TEACHING ACTIVITY
Another game that I used for motivation game on January 29, 2019 is “guess a word” game. In this game, the students need to work and discuss in the group, having one representative as a speaker of the group. I gave them 10 words related to the previous and today’s topic. Based on given pictures, they will uncover every single letter from first letter of the picture to make a meaningful word. I found that student enjoyed the game and having high enthusiasm in participating and solving the words. The goal of giving this game is not only to introduce them about today’s topic, but also to unlock important but difficult word related to the topic.
The secret letters come from first letter of each given picture.
The student really enjoyed the moment when I told them the ancient view about inheritance and the story of Mendel. They also enjoyed the activity to solve the matching game that I gave to each group. The discussion gave them explanation on how the meiosis process related to trait inheritance through reproduction and offspring. The Mendel Laws also gave them a clear description on how the trait goes between generations.
Grade 8 Anonas during classroom discussion
The last session I used to give them the short evaluation. I gave them a short evaluation in form of matching the sentences. I gave them 5 sentences and they need to work individually to decide each sentences belong to which Mendel Laws.

RESULT AND IMPROVEMENT

My CT did not give any commentaries about the thing that I need to improve. She said that my performance really satisfied her. She mentioned that I succeeded to improve the way I demonstrated the students about learning goal.
She also enjoyed the motivation game. She said that the motivation game that I gave to the student was really effective to attract students attention and make them in highly participation through the whole discussion.
MISSCELANEOUS
·         I found that giving a chance for student to demonstrate thing/works in front of the class is god to enhance their self-esteem and critical thinking, even if in the first try they looks shy.
These are several words I learned during encountered with the student in the classroom. Several words below is not Tagalog, but in Bisaya/Cebuano (common dialect used in Davao City). I have marked the Bisaya/Cebuano words with asterix (*).
